The Hungarian Product Grand Prix competition was announced for the fourteenth time in 2011 by INDUSTRONG-VEDJEGYIRODA Minőségügyi (Quality Affairs) Ltd., the Magyar Export-Import Bank (Hungarian Export-Import Bank) Ltd., the Hungarian Exporthitel Biztosító (Hungarian Export Loan Insurance) Ltd., the Nemzeti Fogyasztóvédelmi Hatóság (National Authority for the Protection of Consumers), the TERC Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató (TERC Commercial and Service) Ltd. and by the TÜV Rheinland InterCert Ltd. The main objective of the Hungarian Product Grand Prix competition is to spread quality-awareness, contributing to the development of conscious consumer behaviour.
This year the competition was open in 22 categories, including the broadest palette of economy.
Since its first announcement in 1998, 245 Grand Prix have been awarded, and more than 2000 products and services of international standard promotes the country’s most important treasure: brainpower.
The honourable Hungarian Grand Prix award is a proof of the producer-seller’s trustworthiness, ensuring them positive discrimination accorded by the consumers. It is an excellent way to promote oneself, and it represents not only moral recognition, but also induces economic increase predictable in the long run – this is how it becomes the "European Passport of Certified Quality"!
The competition supervisors take pride in the fact that they have made the Hungarian Product Grand Prix an alternative system that condignly represents Hungary, qualifying its successful products and enterprises.
The supervisors strongly believe that the yearly announcement of the Hungarian Product Grand Prix is of entrepreneurial interest. The motivation of innovation and quality is the token of Hungarian economic development for companies.
The winners were presented with their awards on 1 September in the House of Lords in the Parliament. This year again, the event was appropriately called the "Celebration of Economy"!
Among the guests we could find outstanding personalities of economic and public life, leaders of diplomatic corps, and leading officials of commerce diplomacy.
The assessment of the applications is an examination and certification process consisting of multiple steps. According to the supervisor’s decision, the applications judged to be the most excellent ones were awarded the honourable title of Hungarian Product Grand Prix. The certificates and trophies were given by Mr. László Koszorús, MP and Vice-President of the Parliament’s Economic and IT Committee. The Hungarian Grand Prix trophies were made by Hollóházi Porcelán Manufaktúra (Hollóházi Porcelain Manufacture) Ltd.
In the year 2011, 39 applications submitted by 37 competitors were awarded the right to use the Hungarian Grand Prix Certification Mark. In Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county only one competitor, Steelvent 2000 Ltd. won this right, with its Steelvent ST10 type hot-dip galvanized reinforcing mesh fence system strengthened with trapezoid ribs.
